SEPTEMBER UPDATE
Fall comes with the first snow on the mountains.
CHANGING SEASONS
We continue to embrace the new vision for Uplift and the changes and opportunities it brings. Perhaps more than any other season, fall is a time of evaluation, introspection and gratitude.
We hosted the Lipson family for a wonderful time of reconnecting, activity and fellowship. Spencer & Kathleen along with kids Lilliana, Leeland, Nora and Simeon covered a lot of ground in activity and enjoyment.

Dad and Simeon became buddies!
We also hosted 4 ladies (three shown below) for a weekend of refreshment and renewal. though their mode was much more relaxed than the Lipson's, the deep purposes were much the same - to connect with God and one another.

I know this is not a good picture - just the backs of heads as they look at the mountains - and yet this is part of what good moments are made of. May the Lord use times like this to strengthen faith and relationships.
HUNTING

Son Danny and I got to head into the mountains for his above timberline, buck hunt. He was successful and Isaac and Mike came up to help pack out meat and camp.

This is one of my favorite parts of fall. Being in the mountains with my boys. I am blessed and thankful for another year to experience it.

First board goes on the new deck at our home.

Danny stayed on after the hunt and helped.

Lodge deck boards replaced to get us through the season.

Our decks are an important part of people enjoying this place. Many of them are pretty bad. We received a generous donation to replace the lodge deck after our season ends. We will also need to re-do the dining hall deck before next spring. We are using some new lumber and fastener techniques to try and extend the life of the many decks we have. It is an expensive but good investment. There will be many deck pictures in future updates!
A BUSY OCTOBER
Pray for us as we engage a busy October with 2 large groups, a family coming for renewal, our annual board meeting and an elk hunt. It will mean much cleaning, laundry, grocery runs, fixing meals, maintenance, early mornings, late nights and rich people time. We are thankful for all that awaits us and ask the Lord to fill and guide our days.
I wanted to share this picture of Remi by our dried up pond along with a video of my rainy walk. I wanted to give you a feel for both how dry our year has been and the joy of the recent moisture that God has given.

WE ARE GRATEFUL
for all who pray, encourage and give to us and this ministry
We hope you will consider a visit to the mountain this fall/winter. The apartment will be available all year!
