Thoreau cabin

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
~Henry David Thoreau

This cabin provides an opportunity for solitude, simplicity and hearing the voice of God. Located  in the high trees of the east 40, this cabin calls to a consideration of life and Lord. A commanding view of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains and a no electricity makes this a special place to reconnect on many levels. Made with traditional timber frame joinery from timbers cut on the Uplift property and milled on our own mill, this cabin looks "as if it grew there".   There is a composting toilet, propane cooking burners (no oven) and water from a cooler.  We are planning on adding solar lighting soon.

This cabin is available throughout the year for individuals, couples or families.

The cabin is $70 per night for 1- 4 people.  (Showers included at another facility / food and activity options upon request.)
